I think they were Malc and one or two of the more knowlegable lads on here have confirmed the fact. All three had the 265 8LXC engine/Fuller9509/Eaton Axle which was the spec I ordered at the time.At the time I ordered them our accountant said I should have waited but by the time we got the last one the price had shot up and he said I should have ordered five at the old price----the a******e!!! Dennis.
Here’s Jim and Clive Allmans A seies with Jennings pod and 240 Gardner at the Cheshire Run this year. Pulled from the barn after 20 years, washed down MOT’d and looking ready for a days work! Sat in the cab at Poplars and forgot just how small and cramped the A seies was, and the Jennings pod brought back memories!

That’s a smasher! Nice to see some old motors without the bull applied to them, it makes a change. Having said that, it’s nice to see anyones old motor, in whatever state they wish to present it in.

Thanks for this Big Al.Here is a pic of my old girl,EAG 313Y.Bought her as a long wheelbase six wheeler from Scania dealers in Knighton,Powys. She was owned by a firm from Hull as a flatbed,a credit to the driver and company. The cab was in mint condition as was the rest of the lorry. We sent her to Watts of Lydney, where she was shortened and the axles moved up the chassis. Then to Witheys at Maesycwmmer for a new ultralight steel body. She had another one fitted after five years.

Pictured last year in a layby near Gisburn still earning a crust. Regards Big Al
