some photos I took at an ERF rally in the mid 90’s held at Dalkeith, the recovery truck was taken at a truck show elsewhere can’t remember where, the Redmires tipper dates from the early sixties ( I did’nt take this photo ) my dad when he was alive worked in the office this is where my interest in lorries first began, I remember as a child sitting at the end of the road giving a thumbs up to all the Redmires truck and a thumbs down to all the other operators.
would not be political correct nowadays Regards Gary

A very tidy E.R.F. B Series , photographed at last weekend`s ■■■■■■■ Steam Gathering.

I am sure that “erfguy” will be able to supply more details and history background to this unit.

cheers , cattle wagon man.

This 1975/6 ( Yorkshire ) reg. E.R.F. must be one of the earliest B Series to take to the roads. Someone has spent many hours looking after this very clean and tidy 6 wheeler.
Photographed here , as it arrives at the recent Truckfest Scotland.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

I now own the bottom c series minus the tipping body ,once I get the new flatbed and hiab fitted it will be back earning a crust as it will become my hiab training vehicle

Whilst out cycling around the lanes of Devon I stumbled across this ex Whitaways tractor unit… I didn’t see anyone to speak to so just grabbed a few snaps on my phone.

EAZ4498 I have been stuck behind your Erf many times Andy when it used to come up to Dene Tarmac Quarry in cromford.

How about this 1972 A Series with the ■■■■■■■ NTC350 335hp engine?.
Not many people realise that you could specify the A Series with a higher output engine than the Gardner 240!.

This is an MW cabbed ERF.
Aimed primarily at the export market, mainly New Zealand and Australia, the MW steel cab was basically a Motor Panels Mk II unit, versions of which also appeared amongst others on such as Foden, Scammell, Seddon.

Cad ERF.jpg
Quite a number of British operators did run this type of ERF which were once a common site on the roads around the UK and on the continent.

moomooland:

This isn’t an ‘A’ Series it’s an MW.

Entirely incorrect I’m afraid!

This is indeed an A Series, although as you rightly say, aimed at export markets and fitted with the motor panels MW cab.
This particular one was for European export and entered service with Transportes Delcon, Leuven near Brussels.
The ERF A Series was available with either a fibreglass 7LV cab, or this steel MW structure.
Don’t forget that A Series refers entirely to the chassis design, not the cab etc.
