But most manufacturers have gone backwards, there was more room in an F12 than there is in an FH12. Scania cabs have become more cramped with silly wrap arounds and beds you have to assemble like a childrens toy and for a truck to live in you had to go a long way to beat a DAF 3600 spacecab.

[zb] me if you aint happy with what you gonna get too drive then dont take the job its as simple as that, am sure there are other guys out there who would gladly take the job regardless of what they were givin too drive
I wonder how many drivers have been stuck (i have !!!) this week in trucks that are supposed to be technically (i think thats how you spell it) advanced, auto box,no diff locks,no clutch control, unable to lift the mid-axle because the computer says you’ve too much weight on even tho’ the drive wheels are struggling for grip.I always managed in the past ,i want to get there and back where ever i go and i can’t honestly say the trucks of today are better than the Volvo F10s, F88s, DAFs and ERFs of old.They were basic yes but dependable and would get you home.

crikey,did you have to press a fing called a clutch to pull away n stop,or did you have a synchro box(if you know what one o them is).and as for your window dilemma,someone specced that so dont blame Erf,they built what they were told to by the customer.

Done a PDI on one when ERF first put them on the market, replaced the front brake hoses as they were perished…

My original question was basically how the hell these trucks were still being sold on 05 plates…but it is obvious from your replies…Its cos there are dumb idiots…who are happily prepared to let their boss get away with buying them such ■■■■■ to drive…To Mr Idiot it’s not about a pleasant enviroment to work in or driver comforts…no just a nice huge (ooooppps) steering wheel…Great stories of how it was in 1762…and a horn to blow at the totty…oooohhh nearly forgot…Wind up Windows…
