the country is in crisis no jobs, no work anywhere, yet in the last three days i have been to 4 different huge construction projects with steel, all goverment projects, all being operated and run by a french company and all foreign labour on site, what happened to local jobs for local people, i have friends all qualified tradesmen who are out of work that could be doing the jobs on these sites but chance have we got when the goverment is putting them in place and allowing this to happen, it comes down to one thing at the end of the day, money, the cheapest bid wins, first place to save money is on labour costs, the first rocket to the moon was bult by the lowest bidder not the most proffesional and skilled to do the job…
Thats the bottom line…It is about money, not people.
Even some of the posters on here do not think that UK peps should have jobs over foreigners What hope is there really?
What is happening in Greece right now will pale into insignificance next year in this country…We will see massive unrest once the majority have nothing to lose! Racism will be forgotten, it will be a misdemeanour by then.
I don`t paticularly like English people very much as they have no real sense of indentity, unlike the Irish and the Scots and the French, at least these nations are not afraid to beat their own nationalistic drums, wheras the English are mostly pathetic to be honest…Sad.

i agree with you. this country should look after it’s own. blair and all his cronies loved to get the migrant workers in to do the jobs cheaper than us when it was a boom time. this was to help big business in this country a lot of whom who have benefitted are labour party donors. so if you have voted labour in the last ten years or so then stop complaining because you are partially to blame.
But you can’t just chuck all the migrant workers out because the economy has taken a nosedive. They only came here because the economy was buoyant a few years back and because no British workers wanted jobs like hotel cleaners, taxi drivers, or picking produce in a field etc.
Our society is partly to blame too - too many British people have turned their noses up at certain jobs in the past because they’re not good enough. Just think that all those people out there who haven’t worked for 5, 10, 20 years (because they’re idle, lazy and/or prefer to stay on benefits) could have been hotel cleaners or taxi drivers and if they had there would not have been the need to import so much migrant labour during the last 10 years or so.
Sorry, slightly got off the topic of truck drivers but I think there general principle applies
i wasn’t saying we should chuck all the migrant workers out now that there is no work. that wouldn’t be exactly fair. but i do agree that the lazy english dole merchants should of been made to work a long time ago. if faced with the choice starve or work. they would have to work. all well and good as long as there are jobs to put them in though!
i am proud to be english but some times i think we are a pathetic nation
Chuck em all out, they can come as far as Dover or Calais then drop and swap, send all the ■■■ drivers home too, dont need em plenty of Brits stood about thumb’s up there bums and brains in neutral waiting for work.
What, is wrong , why complain about
those who come here seeking work,
I live and work abroad no one is
complaining here that I am takeing their
job away from them, As for working for
lower wages I do not think so, the wages
all round seem to have taken
a down ward trend ,Yes I agree if working
full time in a country you need to speak,
read, and write the language ,apart from that
we can go any where in the EU to work just
like every one else,
brit pete, ive worked and lived in belgium and wish i never came back to this dump, only did for my partners sake, the east eu companies have ruined it over there too the belg, dutch have been flagging out their trucks so they dont have to pay local wages,go to the total in zeeb, see them parked up waiting for trls off the docks, jobs locals used to do…ive sat 2 days in italy waiting for a load to be told by forwarders that their bosses told them to load east eus 1st because they are cheaper ,how can we survive against this? we need decent wages because of our cost of living that governments set as far as the uk ,its not just bad compaies that have east drivers .how do they check their references etc ■■ i will tell you what it is,nobody cares in the uk about his/her fellow brit, its all 1 upmanship, the bosses like east drivers because alot of them are subservient to their masters and thats what bosses want, give them all the jobs and when we are all out of work and claiming dole the gov might see sense but untill that day happens we are stuffed, other eu countries try to look after their own, except this 1
now a friend of mine works down felixstowe for a dutch trailer crowd 3 letters they are 22 jobs short today but the dutch office made sure the poles with silver motors got jobs before the local lads how crap is that. could you see the french germans dutch spanish letting us work from there ports whilst local lads stood not a chance there would be riots,

What we will see is what we always see from the English.
Moan whinge, moan whinge, when’s someone gonna do summat.
@ken57, about the eastern block countrys,
what about 1980 by the zeebrugge garage
there was allways lots of drivers of British trucks
parked up waiting for the trailer to come over
with the next ferry, they (DRIVERS) came from all over be
it turkey or any other country, this is not a new idea
it has been around since motorised transport came out;;:
Bertchi was useing british drivers as cheap labour
well before, any one else, The french have had polish
drivers well before the rest of the EU countrys started to
use them,It is a fact of life that we will have to
sell our selves better when looking for work,
we will have to adapt and relearn if we wish to
survive as drivers, for the future, which means
in some cases for international work, know about
the correct way to driveabroad, perhaps have
some knowledge of one(1-or2) languages ,
be prepared to return to the school bank as
and when it is required.
show our future or present employer that we are the best
for the job and that low waged labour is often
more costly than paying a better skilled person a higher wage.
this is happening all over in every country and that includes
Poland,Romania etc, YOU as a person need to
show why you are worth paying a better wage,
THE SPALDING FARTER, is he I wonder a tree hugging, guardian reading, shirt lifting, sandal wearing, left wing pinko by any chance, it reads like a student to me.
only people born in Warwickshire should be allowed to transit our moterways
so stop at the border and i’ll take your truck to other side of the county whilst you get a lift
