There is plenty of other drivers arround. Brits, Easterns and others. There will always be someone nice and decent. Don’t need you. And as in most cases help required by me is just directions, I always rather trying to ask locals
So as long as you won’t ■■■■■ my curtains, damage my lorry or steal the diesel, good luck for you And if you will, remember, that it won’t cost me, but a british haulier, as I am driving british lorries only.

a couple of years ago I was changing a headlight bulb in an MSA, I couldn’t be arsed to lift the cab so crawled under - only one driver came to ask if i was ok, he was an Eastern European.
I’ve given directions to foreign drivers and will do when asked again - we’re all drivers so why not help each other when we can !

Funny you should say that. I pulled into a farm a couple of weeks ago to pick up some milk. Couldn’t get anything going as the pipes had frozen up. The farm manager (English) came along and said “Been wrecking things again?” and laughed and then left. Then one of the farm workers came along and went to get some hot water. Didn’t help. Then he went and got a kind of paint stripper I think and after half an hour or so, I got things working. He’s Lithuanian. I too was smiling as such small acts of kindness go a long way.

Well, I’ve stayed out of all of this particularly nasty thread until now.
Don’t class me in with your ‘several mates’ because I am one of thousands that still believe a driver is a driver, and if they are in trouble we pull together and help.
You and your ‘several mates’ are a sub species within this industry, you represent not one single decent human being.
I am amazed that this particular thread has been allowed to propogate and peddle your particular brand of fascism and racism.
As for karma, you have no idea but I really do hope that what goes round comes round.

Actually the picture comes from a little trip I treated the neighbours kid and girlfriends grandchildren to on Christmas Eve.
Part of the trip involved 6 of us being picked up in a stretched limo, driven by a brilliant bloke called Darius from Poland, he was working all over christmas and he looked after us like royalty. I was very impressed with him and his attitude, even though he would not get home to see his own kids this Christmas. Anyway I gave him an extra 20 quid as a tip, he could not have been more helpful.

I disagree. V8passion is entitled to his views and we should remember that he comes from a part of the UK where folk are traditionally wary of outsiders, preferring instead to form strong family ties.

I would not agree with anything this fella has to say and its a bit simplistic anyway, so I view it as entertaining. Orys can look after himself on these pages as he has proved a few times. People with V8 Passion’s views exist all around, its part of life, more so in these harder times, like it or not, he has a right to express his opinion. I worry about people with the same views taking the law into there own hands then this bloke posting in a forum.

I would help them no question, it’s another driver with a problem, I closed the doors to business & a life long dream due to unfair competition from Eastern European hauliers undercutting rates, but I would’ve done the same if the boot was on the other foot, it’s called free enterprise. It’s not their fault that we’re at a disadvantage, that’s down to our Government & it’s take it up the arse policies.
We have supposed Trade Organisations (FTA & RHA, not to mention the unions) who should have lobbied the powers that be on our behalf, but they are just a load of self serving hot air specialists & so we find ourselves in this situation.
The thing is, myself & many of the drivers that use this site have had assistance from Eastern European drivers in the past, when I’ve been stuck in a factory overnight or for a weekend I’ve had people without a pot to ■■■■ in offer me food in Eastern Europe, it’s a good job they did’nt/don’t share the small mindedness of some of the trucknet members.
Of course, everyones entitled to their opinion & that’s mine, while I don’t share everybodies point of view, I do understand why people are being so extreme, I just think that the blame on our current situation is being placed on the wrong people.
