Place where I have just started uses the EDC (European Deisel Card) which is a new one on me, has anyone got any experience of the card, whats coverage like and can it be used at places like frejus/Mont Blanc etc etc.
Try googling it. I did and found this

Down all that, I’m wanting to know if anyones had on the road experience with the cards, if theres any places that I need to be careful. as most of there sites seem to be off the main routes.
Fair one! I notice on the site that it does have a sat nav download, maybe worth doing if your stuck with the card?
In Belgium the caards are great, everywhere else its about as much use as monopoly money.
Don’t think they can be used anywhere in Italy.
Italy with the tolls is a pain…They don’t take fuel cards.
We have started using these for a few weeks now and the places where you can fuel up in the uk are few and far between.Awful!!

Well after my first trip out I have decided that the EDC card is pants.
Filling up near the ports is fine as you can use places like All4Trucks and the Romac sites, in germany they tend to be out of the way on some industrial estates, on way to italy I filled up IN Stuttgart as opposed to on the Autobahn most of the German sites are run by Tankpool or Hoyer.
Now as my run was to italy I had to becareful as there were only 3 sites, 1 at Brescia Est and 2 near Turin, the Brescia site is not to bad as it is located on a truckstop right on the autostrade. I filled up there on the way to Rimini, not entirely on the route but close enough.
I had a collection near turin at Rotella and so decided I would use one of the 2 sites on the way there, Get to the first at Tortona and machine won’t accept the card and its a remote site so no one to help so decided to head to Novi Ligure about 15miles away only to find that though this site is manned it is owned by the same people who own the Tortona site and they also don’t accept EDC, so I had to use cash to enable me to get back to Brescia. To some up if you go to Italy alot and your boss gets the EDC card your screwed.

…Or you need to get bigger tanks. EDC does need some planning, but agree the coverage is not as good as it could be. If you’ve got the directory have a look at the dodgy pictures in it. I know, I spend a lot of time on my own!!
Joke of a card, total waste of time. Make sure you check your invoices as they have a nasty habit of emailing you one price and invoicing you another.
