No, looking South. You can just see a small but of the old 74 in the middle of the pic. A couple of miles up from Beattock village.
happysack are you on the forestry rd that comes out on ish raehills estate that follows ower the hills ontae fountain forestry land south o closeburn.
The road goes into the forestry under a narrow arched Bridge on the old 74 about 3 miles up from Beattock village. If you follow the road you can loop about 10 miles and eventually drop back to auchen Castle.

the forestry road I mentioned was one I worked on a good 37 yrs ago just wondered if it was still passable it kindo joined up wi the road above Beattock farm /old dump(twisted road) further on…was
