Easiest job I had was about 9 years ago, when I had not long passed my Class C. It was only for a couple of weeks holiday cover on the agency, but all I had to do was spend my 8 hours occasionally driving an 18T curtainsider between two sites operated by the same company about a mile or so apart. During any day I would do maybe 10 or 12 runs between the two locations. The rest of the time was spent sitting around waiting while the forkie and his mates assembled the loads and loaded/unloaded the pallets. I was actually glad when it ended TBH.
My easiest job was doing a bit of moonlighting for city-link via an agency, still had a proper job but fancied a bit of extra weekend work.
Anyway went in Sat night to be told to wait in me car, waited for 8 hours then went home no need for me apparently. Same thing Sunday but went home after 4 hours (paid 8 ). Asked agency for same shift during the week and called in each evening on me way home from proper job just to sign in.
To cut a long story short I got rumbled the second week as there was a job and I had gone home, told agency I didnt feel well. Obviously I didnt get any more city-link work but apparently it was quite common to just turn up sign in and bugger off home. Surprised they went bust.
