had a renault yesterday came to fill up and i struggled to get the fuel cap off as when i put the key in there wasnt enough space to turn it. finaly got it off and managed to get some fuel into it. came to put the cap back on and it wouldnt go. When i looked there were four lugs but only two key ways no amount of twisting the key or wind blowing from the east could get them to line up. Eventually i pushed them in line by hand (very easy) but then couldnt get the cap to lock of have any gumption in staying put.
how is it supposed to be done
My key is ‘hinged’ so it folds back in.
Press button until key is at a right angle, and turn pit it in lock, and turn.
The key will then fit in behind catwalk,.then screw off cap.
Do reverse when locking it.
Hope that helps.
You would be no good on the Krypton Factor mate.
Thanks didnt think of that… im not very good at thinking outside the box…
am i right in thinking that you have swapped your merc for a renault? how are you getting on with it
Yep,.I got a high cab one in November.
Kin’ love it mate, ya feel like you are driving a ‘proper truck’ again at last, it ticks all the boxes.
