Hi all just wanted to know if it makes any difference on offence codes. Last year I was lucky 
to pick up a speeding ticket while driving the lorry 54 in a 40 and was charged with a fixed penalty of £60 and 3 points. Was away to renew my car insurance there and noticed the offence code is SP30 Exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road but should it not be SP10 Exceeding goods vehicle speed limits.
Dose it make any difference.
54 in a 40 is a sp30 no matter what vehicle your in, your not charged with breaking the vehicle specific limit but the limit for all vehicles.
Cheers Rikki, just trying to find out if there was away of getting them removed before the time was up. No luck.
So 54 on a NSL road in a lorry would be recorded as breaking the limit for type of vehicle.
wrong my dad got one on the a 17 just after sutton bridge 56 in a 40 sp 10 is the code on his licence mind you that was with one of these so called smart cameras so may depend on the camera

I reckon they use SP30 for most speed penalties as it covers everything - never seen the others on any licence I’ve looked at and I’ve looked at a fair few…

They could find any apparentley i was going to fast
As far as insurance goes the only speeding code that causes problems is the SP60, a code that is no longer issued. The others tend to be treated the same and therefore it’s only the number of points that are important.

I had a SP10 on mine 54 on the A16 near me! National speed limit.

No idea but the SP30 expires in 23 days so I’ll have to get moving if I want the set.
