Driving licence in Australia

Hi
Can anybody tell me the equivilant licence for a HGV1 in Australia and what licence do you need to drive a B Double■■?

To drive a B-Double is Oz you need a Multiple Combination License, (MC).

Far as I know every state is different, but UK Class 1 means squat in most and likely only allow you to drive 7.5t.

This is probably still the case, my info is 40 years out of date but when I landed in Darwin I was given a licence covering me for road trains of any length merely by showing my UK car licence (there were no HGV licences in those days). It said on it ‘Permit to drive Lorries’ :open_mouth:
But, when I got down to NSW they refused to recognise the Territory permit because it didn’t have the words ‘semi-trailer’ on it . :frowning:
So I had to take a, not very complicated or difficult, test.

Still frustrating that each State has different rules and regs-apparantly it is getting better.A few links to a few States. transport.qld.gov.au/Home/Li … residents/ regards to Heavy Vehicles;
