Neither vehicle checks or waiting time is counted as driving time.
Driving time for the EU regulations is the time that’s recorded on the tachograph as “driving”, and the tachograph will only record “driving” when the wheels are turning.
So basically you can think of driving time as only the time that the wheels are turning.
When doing vehicle checks the tachograph should be on “other work” and will be counted as working time but not driving time.
Waiting to get tipped can be either “other work” or “break” or “POA” depending on what you’re doing while you’re waiting.
