Driving but not loading?

Hi,

I really enjoy driving and am taking my c+e next week and looking forward to getting some work. However I’m not as fit and nimble as many others. Do driving jobs exist that don’t involve the actual loading of the wagon? Or minimal loading at least?

Thanks!

Many trunking jobs involve nothing more than changing trailers, on a curtain-sider you may have to open/close the curtains and on a reefer you would need to open/close the doors.

I would say that only a small proportion of C+E drivers load/unload their own vehicles these days.

That’s kind of what I thought. With all the fast turnarounds these days I assumed they wouldn’t want to wait for the driver to load up - rather than have it ready for them to go!

I appreciate as a newbie there’ll be more work to do I guess and I’m not totally feeble - but need to look after my body!!
