driving assement. help!!

Hi guys some of you already know me. Passed my c+e mid march. Handed out alsorts of cv.s. nothing back from anybody. Friend of mines boss i had got talking to him yestrday said a guy rang him looking for artic driver for tipping work. Composs. 6am start 2pm finish. Around 50 mile. 3 loads a day i think. So anyway another guy got job. So my friends boss hears the guy looking more drivers. I get a call hour ago. Guy knew id no experince whats so ever. So gona give me drive any how. Scania and volvos. So assement 3pm monday. If good enough start right away. Any advice guys really apprecated. Bricking it and nerves :confused:

then let the assessor take you through it all- just like your LGV instructor did

Thanks rog. Is that way it works then? I thought in assement you just got in and drove :laughing: . Didnt think they went threw everything. Obvs the tipper he would have to show the trailer

Relax Bud.Just show the daily safety checks on the vehicle.
Maybe a short drive around the block.
It is not rocket science.

A good assessor will establish what you already know and will expect you to demonstrate that. But no-one knows it all and the guy should expect to have to deliver some “top up” knowledge.

Apart from that, take you time but don’t crawl about (there is a day’s work to be done after all). Go in clean work clothes. Tipping is not the job for the Burton’s shop window look. But you must start off clean and well presented. Practice your firm hand shake and natural smile. Don’t waffle but be pleasant and personable.

Make sure you have both parts of your licence and your driver qualification card with you.

Take deep breaths and enjoy.
