Drivers working history

often on the american forums it is mentioned that A driver cannot get a job because he has certain history on his file (drugs, accidents etc) or you hear of drivers getting safe driving awards for clocking up 1 million accident free miles etc, etc.

who is responsible for this file, who puts the information in it and records the miles etc, etc.■■?
maybe your employer ■■? or a combination of agencies ■■
presumably good drivers earn more than bad??
would this file work in the uk ■■

The Department of Motor Vehicle keep records on their license. And the driving record is accessed by perspective employers before they hire the driver. From what I understand the safety/accident bonuses and things like that are given out by companies to their own drivers. There aren’t any industry based awards that I’ve ever heard of, just individual employers. Patrick gets a safety and performance bonus quarterly at his job. If I’m not mistaken, he’s the only driver at the company to continously receive it from date of hire. So tell me why the idiot who had 2 accidents, never gets his load delivered on time, and misses work with a hangover is the one who got Driver of the Year last year■■? Something isn’t right there…

I can answer that question for Kate,

The ‘Driver of thr year’ had threatened to quit and this award was given to b/s the guy and make him stay … remember there is a big driver shortage here.

Now why didn’t i just turn around and tell that  She is sitting on the couch behind me

There is an independant company that keeps the “DAC” files on every driver. Do a search for “DAC report” , or ask any American recruiter for info.
