Drivers from within company but from another Traffic Area

An Operator i represent has had a new application granted recently for the traffic area i cover, holding an Operators licence in a different traffic area for many years. My Operating Centre recently used the services of a couple of drivers from the other traffic area Operating Centre. All analogue tachographs being used, the drivers will have to keep their tachos with them for the 28 day period. Would/Could it be advantageous for me to take photo-copies of the analogue tachos before they go off with the drivers. They have already been told to return them to the Operating Centre from where they worked for a few days previously within the 42 days deadline, just wondered how other people worked with this scenario please. Thanks for your help.

I understand that scanned/photocopies of a tachograph are not proof of their existence, just i had to let a driver go recently and he took his last 4 weeks tachos with him to cover his driving for last 28 days.

I don’t really see what the traffic area has to do with it, but it doesn’t seem a lot different from using agency drivers.

When I used to do agency work, pre digi card, the company I’d worked for would take a photocopy of my tacho at the end of my shift when they signed my paperwork. And then the agency would return my cards to them when I no longer needed to carry them.
