I am very, very uncomfortable with this. Bloke takes a bit of pavement to get into the drop and there some numpty sleeping rough right on that spot. Just how the hell is the driver supposed to know this. There but for the grace of god go any of us. At worst its a tragic accident. A year inside for that!!?

One more reason why Iā€™ll never drive an artic again.

Well the driver did see the woman sleeping but thought it was a folded duvet, you have to ask yourself why didnā€™t he get out and check rather than just driving over it, thatā€™s certainly what I, and hopefully most other drivers would have done.

You canā€™t really escape the fact that there was a bit of negligence on the drivers part.

Having said that, sending him to prison isnā€™t going to achieve anything, it seems like punishment for punishments sake and is totally pointless :frowning:

You have to ask yourself why didnā€™t he just drive it or even reverse it into the other entrance.
Maybe ended up in the nick because scared of a blind side reverse into a mile wide entrance.If itā€™s a rigid WTF was he thinking or obviously not thinking in this case.
You canā€™t drive a truck over the pavement especially if thereā€™s a cardboard box or a duvet on it.
