4yrs on with digi tachos still downloading info myself my card & vu unit never done a tacho course just my cpc & websites but I’m thinking what if the info is wrong or doesn’t get uploaded right. Don’t have a transport manager just the owner is the O licence holder and don’t no either so thinking my position with company May need to change if things don’t change. Any advice would be great.

Are you the CPC holder for this company ?
No I’m the driver.
But we are going to look at doing a tacho course so all should be good after that?
If you’re not the CPC holder or O Licence holder then your only requirement is to make your card available to the company for them to download.
A asked about you being the CPC holder because you said you’d done the CPC and I wasn’t sure if you meant the TMs CPC or the Driver CPC.
Anyway to be honest I don’t see a problem, you’ve done the job successfully for 4 years so presumably you must be doing it right, if for any reason anything was found to be wrong it would be your boss who was held responsible, he or whoever is the CPC holder should be checking the data from the VU and your driver card or having it analysed by an outside company, so they should notice if the data wasn’t downloaded correctly.
I’m not sure how many tachograph courses cover the download procedure, so if that’s what you want you may have to shop around a bit.
