Drive shaft vibrations ? ...... Dunkin Donuts can help!

Last Monday & Tuesday my VN was off the road having a new drive shaft fitted, So when I got it back I was over the moon after using an old Frieghtliner and drove off down I-87 and along the Mass Pike, doing around 68mph on cruise. As the trip went on I became aware of a grinding noise and virbration which got gradually worse :exclamation: After stopping at Charlton plaza for a fresh coffee which took me 10 mins before getting going again I noticed the sound had gone, as the day went on it returned again, I was getting quite worried, untill I stopped at Dunkin Donuts for yet another coffee and ■■■■■, the noise then totally vanished and didn’t come back :exclamation: Later as I got my things together I realise what had caused the problem ;- My stainless steel travel mug had lost it’s rubber pad from the bottom, as it got gradually empty and thus lighter, it started to slowly turn and vibrate, making the grinding noise and the vibration, Instead of refilling it at DD’s I got a fresh cup in one of the plastifoam cups they have which of course didn’t vibrate or make a noise

So fellow drivers if you think your drive shaft is on the way out, before you take it to the workshop, try Dunkin Donuts first

:open_mouth:  Dohhh. :unamused:

LOL

An empty coffee cup is a far more serious problem and needs rectifying far quicker than a dodgy drive shaft any day.
