Can anybody shed any light on why the boats are suffering such heavy delays ? One of our lads has a 6 hour wait in calais this evening . The train website still saying 5 crossings out per hour , any ideas .
Don’t have an answer. I came across last night to Calais and was in Dover by 3:30 pm thought As I had some time I would save some money using the boat - well 6:30 later I arrived in Calais. Weather was ok so apart from the normal mid week night traffic I couldn’t understand it. Haven’t used the boat for a good while, now I know why!!
I think p&o are a boat down and my ferry the same there of for refits
I’m told all three ferry companies have a boat away for re-fit at the moment.
Rock and a hard place for the ferry operators really. Eventually the boats need refitting so it makes sense to do it in the “quiet” period where there is less passenger traffic. We however know that freight has little if any seasonal differences, but they have to pick a time for the work to be done.
