Not bad for 7.5 tonne, seen class 1 paying less

really?

I need to read things better, but the hourly rate is still better than some class 1.

if they were not ising an agency then you would be getting £8 per hour

Typical rates in the West Midlands are 7.5tonne @ £7 hr. Class 2 @ £8 to £10 hr and Class 1 @ £9.50 to £11.50 hr. Obviously those rates depend on what you are doing.

I have seen one Class 2 job advertised delivering to stores, including lots of handball, at a paltry £7 hr. I thought to myself, ‘good luck with that one’. Only a complete muppet would want that sort of hassle for that stupid money.

Lorry drivers money has always been made up more by a much longer working week than other industries.

I think the people talking about hourly rates are missing the point - the job advertisement quoted in the OP states the salary on offer is £6.75 PER ANNUM, which works out to about 2p a day…

Agency adverts are constantly full of errors. That’s what happens when you give office based primates access to a keyboard…

The Romanian and Bulgarian drivers will take the job for 1pence.
If they share a house with ten people in it, they can keep living costs down.
