So if anyone does nights I’m sure you will be familiar with the utter shambles that one is faced with when trying to access Donny Park MSA from the north due to the 453 closure. Rather than being diverted all the way to Tamworth* 
down the 42 before being able to double back, is there any back road short cut to get to it for a 16’2 decker? Trailer swaps there are getting rather tedious with the nightly diversions round the countryside.
Had this last night. I followed the diversion which takes you down the 42 as far as the 511 and doubles back and then takes you in via the back of the airport. However when you eventually reach the roundabout by the services the ■■■■■■ thing is blocked where you need to be so you end up back at the A50/M1/A453 roundabout… 
Not an option with a DD anyway, I was in the car.
Best way is M1 past, off at the first junction, 180, and back up. Would say you’re looking at a good 25min driving time wasted in a truck, however. Can’t think of any other way TBH.

Yeah same for me. I think it would’ve been quicker to stay on the M1 til Shepshed and then come back. Down the 42 to the 511 is a fair old hike.
I will just point out that i have been running to that area on nights with tarmac, they are re surfacing the a 50 w bound and to access the road works we have been going a50 east to the m1 453 junction, then up to donnington services, right round and back down to the m1 453 island and onto the a50 west
I did not know the 453 had been shut, having said that we have been working on the a 516/a38 most of this week but i think the a50 westbound job starts again next week!
