Someone is making a lot of money from these medicals, and i believe the NHS should supply it free, for a few years now it has nearly always been £100, and after hours, and straight in the back pocket, so thats a bit of pocket money on top of the £100 grand theyre supposed to be on. I have always been sceptical about using another service for if dvla need more information, they will write to your doctor, and not to the mobile one, so at least every medical condition of mine is on my doctors computer, plus i always think dvla will raise suspician when seeing another doctors details, but thats my opinion.

You have a point about medical history but I used them because as they fill out these forms all the while they know what they are doing, I got the impression from my doctor he rarely does lgv medicals.

That might be so but at the end of the day It MIGHT NOT be your Dr that does your medical it could be a stand in or even one of these medics that hire a room off your surgery. your own GP will only tick the form the same as any other medic.
with doctors on wheels doing hgv medicals every day, they probably fill in the form correctly. my brother had to go back to his own GP three times because DVLA kept sending the form back. not signed, not stamped, then some other minor mistake.
the daft sod should have checked it himself, but after paying £98.00 for it, you wouldn’t expect to have to question if the doctors done his job right.

Same as one of our drivers . His licence expired on his birthday management told him he couldnt drive and sent him home . His doc didn
t fill the form properly and it came back from DVLA so he had to go back to docs and send it off again meanwhile his entitlement expired. I have been to my doc three times in 7 years, each time saw a different doc so i would use DoW no prob. At least they would know how to fill the form in .
