Another 6 hours after the 9 hrs?
Whenever you have the 45 minute driving break it will be enough for the WTD to cover a shift of over 9 hours, but if you do more than 6 hours working time after the break you will need another 15 minute break.
If you had the 45 minute break 6 hours into the shift you would need another 15 minute break no later than when you was 12 hours 45 minutes into the shift (6 hours after the previous break).
Ahh gotcha, basically don’t go over 6 hrs without 15min break
valks1 - I suggest you attend a Driver CPC course and ask your questions there because these answers on here are just going over and over the same thing and you clearly don’t get it. It would be much easier to talk it through with someone.

And who’s to say what misinformation would be propagated on a DCPC course.

I think he’s saying that sitting down face to face with someone would benefit.
and after all we all know the dcpc trainers are qualified

Well … being honest - here we have someone who clearly isn’t understanding what is being written. It was written half a dozen times in various ways and he still didn’t get it, so I thought face to face explanation may work better Everybody learns in different ways
But point taken about misinformation and DCPC. It does happen but a lot of the stories I hear sound more like lack of listening or understanding on behalf of the driver, but yes some trainers spout duff info.
Example - Monday I delivered a drivers hours course and know exactly what I said with regard to working time breaks. I know what I said and I concentrated specifically on the break requirements including giving different scenarios both verbally and drawn on the board. I also played a DVD by the FTA which makes it quite clear.
Today - we did a recap on the WTD because someone asked a question. I had the same people in the room as I had Monday. One of the drivers told me I had said “30m after 6 hours work”. I KNOW I didn’t and wouldn’t say that. Maybe I didn’t get it across properly on Monday but it was only this one driver seemed to have it wrong which suggests to me he didn’t listen. I am sure he will go and tell everyone “The DCPC trainer said … blah blah blah what a ■■■■■■■■
But I’ll agree some DCPC trainers are getting it wrong and this needs dealing with but I don’t know the answer to that …
Thats the problem - there is no testing on the content to ensure dcpc trainers have got it right
A trainer could say that having more than 3 reduced daily rests in a WEEK is illegal
They could also say that SHOWING two reduced weekly rests in a row is illegal
Who or what is in place to correct that?

I agree, you’re right

I readily accept that some of the stories we hear are really misunderstandings, and I reckon some are just plain lies
Problem is that if just 5% of the stories are correct (I’m not saying it is only 5%) there’s something seriously wrong
