Direct TV

I have thought about installing Direct TV in my truck, my digital box stopped working a few weeks ago, in Montreal to be exact. I still have DVD and can watch Direct Tv online using my account number but the screen is to small. All i’d have to do really is buy a dish to carry with me, and I see lots of drivers who carry them fixed to the back of their truck, I have an extra box at home, I just don’t know if I could be bothered setting the dish up every break period. I think if I were on long haul and spent some weekends and 34 hour breaks away I would be more enthusiastic.
Do any of you lot have it ?

Don’t know if it’s same over there but I’ve got freeveiw app downloaded to my I pad. Used to use it when I was away not a great size but done the trick.

Thats it, go and blame poor old Montreal! I’m in Montreal right now as it happens, parked outside the receiver with a load from Kansas to tip first thing monday morning but cant leave until Tuesday as I’m slap bang on my 70.

My TV is jusy plugged straight into the truck get a few channels there

Mine is not a digital set and I used a seperate channel selector box which fried in that damm French hole (not really though, it is beautifull). I have Direct TV ad HBO on the laptop but as I said before the screen is not big enough for my liking.
It’s havng to move that dish around thats putting me off.

Get the Metro to the Latin Quarter and hit the music bars and comedy clubs.
No TV here, but wifey downloads a lot of crap to watch on her lappy.

Mick … Get HULU on the lappy, its free and you can watch most TV.
I don’t use it here because my netbook thing freezes a lot, I do watch HBO Go on here though but I get that because we have Direct TV at home and it’s free.

Surely all you need is a D-Sub pin15 cable between laptop and TV! Push F5 on the laptop to toggle the view.

I just watch Direct TV or Netflix on the laptop now but I have also bought a new wide screen slimline digital TV. In NYC just using that with the cab antenea I get 38 channels.

When I had problems watching hulu in Switzerland, phone call to streaming VPN people helped resolve it quickly with useful tips and guidance. Certainly appreciate your customer services.

Things have changed now Billy, I have a flat screen in the cab, I still pick up about 40 channels in NYC, if I am in Vince Lombardy I get about 60 :astonished:
I couldn’t be bothered with the Direct TV thing, too much hassle to carry that dish around when 9 times out of 10 I switch the TV on and fall asleep in about 30 minutes

I have a 1 terrabyte hard drive full of tv shows and films, all the Carry On films, all the Bond films, the Professionals, Sweeney, Frost, Inspector Morse, Porridge and lots more :sunglasses:

I used to use Hulu or Netflix before I got the hard drive.
