My digi card is about to expire on 8th Feb and I have recieved my new one already.
Can I start using my new straight away or do I have to wait until the 9th ?

The new card will not work until the day after your old one expires so no you cannot use it yet.
The old card may not work for the last 24 hours before it expires in which case you will need to do printouts at the start and end of shift for that day.
You should have had a leaflet with the new card explaining what you should do.
