all it needs is the mirrors making.

Thanks for the info mate I will keep my eyes peeled. I like the anniversary colours better than the old livery to be honest.
Swapmeets/toyfairs have been mentioned earlier; I find these to be a real letdown in the last year or so. The sellers there all sit with silly grins on their faces, wondering who’ll pay £20 for a battered Eddie Stobart wagon, and frown if you dare pick anything up to inspect. A lot of what they sell is junk…better to go to a modelshop that sell trade-ins (mostly railway stuff though), but one I find that is ridiculously overpriced is the one in Stratford on Avon (old bus garage)-way overpriced, I’ve seen them selling 1:50s for, say £120 whereas one in Cheltenham sells the same thing for £75. I was in there about 4 months ago and a woman wanted a (I think, Vanguard) model of a Triumph whatever for her son. Shop bloke clearly didn’t have what she wanted but spent about 10 mins trying to flog any old crap he could think of…
Whoever’s collection that is, Its tremendous! Love the way you’ve put them by livery!
Unfortunately i buy models to leave in the boxes and shove them in a cuboard
Saddo i know!
Personally i think tekno have to be kings of the road in the model world. Time after time another superb model released.
Can I ask why you stick them in a cupboard in the box?
Well obviously I can ask… I just did
Here s 3 full size models ive collected and done up over the years, allso had a thames trader breakdown wagon and three other landys sory no photos of them
Proper boys toys LOl. Back on to truck models come on lads get clicking and show us yours.

You must be going to the wrong swapmeets then or you need a trip to specsavers ? .I trade at swapmeets in scotland and you can pick up brand new corgi 1/50th scale for £20 less than they sell them in the shops.I tend to buy big collections and therefore i can sell models which are boxed with certificates and mirrors on sprue for £30 and the ones that are hard to get £50.As all of my customers will testify i encourage customers to open boxs and inspect before buying and if they do not wish to inspect before buying i open the boxs myself so they can inspect them.It is a buyers market just now with all models and i know a lot of shop owners are strugling and possible few likely to go under but there is plenty to chose from.So do not tar all sellers with the same brush and if you vist the Falkirk swapmeet you will see me and you will get some cracking deals as i am well known for giving fantastic deals. As for sitting with a stupid grin on my face eh i do not think so as most of my customers will tell you i usually interact with them and they haggle and i bantter.I run the cheapest stall at falkirk and i do not make a big profit but the money i make goes to buying models i wish to own for myself. So come on up to Falkirk and see for youself before slaging of sellers its on every 1st sunday of every month.
I’m not slagging off all sellers I’m speaking from my own experiences…You’d probably do well down this way mate…the Oxford one at Kidlington (think it might’ve been stopped now as I didn’t see it advertised this year) had got p*** poor and so was the one at Chipping Norton School (another I think now defunct). Don’t know whether you do model rail stuff but I can’t see who’d pay £100 for a loco when there’s no guarantee it works; think I’d rather spend an exter £10 and go to a shop…
I’ve noticed also that toyfairs around here also attract a lot of fat sweaty smelly gits who wear socks and sandals, some even write the loco and carriage numbers down in notebooks the sad ■■■■■■■■■

No,i do not touch trains. My wife would kill me if i wore socks and sandals.I was trying to to make the point that there is bargins to be had at swap meets. The purpose of a swapmeet is to talk to people that share the same hobby and/or swap items or purchase new items. There is some people that do take down truck reg and take photos of trucks just the same as train spotters.
I’ve noticed railway modelling’s a bit snooty compared to other forms…lots of people who go to a show and moan that an engine’s not in the right livery for that era, or that a siding wouldn’tve been in that position , what really annoys me when magazines berrate a model because the rivets in the boiler don’t look right…these people are probably virgins and find Last of the summer wine entertaining…
My newest toy…ahem model
From WSI. Possibly my new favorite!
Very nice, i think wsi do a very good detailed model
That stall looks a lot tidier than the ones Oxfordshire’s used to! Did you paint the tractor units you pictured or just the trailer and loads? Wondered how the painting was done, airbrush or handbrush?

The tractor units are as bought and the trailers are corgi trailers. The pins are cast and the best on the market.I hope to paint a couple of units and get them livered in my own name. The units i bought at a swapmeet for £5 each which was a good buy. Most code 3 boys spray there models using halfords paint cans and there is a few guys do the decals. Thanks for the comment about my stall.
shuggy:
Two of my made up models. Both units are corgi and the trailer loads i made up.3210
Nice models Shuggy thanks for posting pics up. Do you sell on ebay or just at the meets.? Or even privately.? Just wondered as I have bought a lot of mine on the bay and its a lotery tbh,. Would like to find a chap like yourself to buy from in the future.
Keep em coming everyone lets see if we can keep this very interesting thread alive.
Even xmas pressies of models if your lucky enough to get any.
