DFDS Belfast subbie rates

450 miles a week?

Chris Slowey would be horrified!

£1.10 a mile

 I bet he would, I could have done a lot more but for different reasons I didn’t,
Plus there was a lot of sitting around waiting on DFDS to get back to me with a load,

I also seen my self that different hauliers have priority in DFDS, tho that’s only what I think from driving with different company’s in to DFDS,

I’ve been off for a while now for family reasons but hopefully I’ll be back across in a couple off weeks,

Are you looking for a job

We’ll i can head straight out with a company I was working to but the money’s not fantastic, I’ve been keeping my ear out for good work,

Do u know of any??

I think Eglinton timber were looking a driver etpni.com/

See that, looks alright, although I think I’d rather stick with the fridge work, always seem to enjoy it for some reason,

I can’t think of any companies near you that do fridge work

Mc Conaghy is close to him and does fridge work. Ring Ricky he might not have a job for you but you could do a few days for them.

Id say il go bak with the company i was with before, drawin loads from dfds into cairnryan then onwards, quite flexible with work etc, i like to go out a monday night and bak fri night / sat morning

You ever work for Chris Slowey (Manfreight)

Nothing new there. When it used to be Interland/Norfolkline the lads that were in there longer got the ‘better’ loads. Manfreight would have been #1, and about the only ones that didn’t need to run about on the bang.

Naw haven’t worked for manfreight at all, did think about it tho, what are they like? I was doing a little work for MVH and see then regularly down the 75’

MVH wages your better of on dole and working on side been there got t shirt.
170 from cainryan down to sainburys in stone 9hours rest reload culina stafford and back up to port .

Wile likes morgans armagh paying 250 a run out through middle to holyhead and half of driving hours.

I like the work with MVH, the likes of arla foods and nisa scunthorpe or coop castlewood etc real handy, going bak out monday night, money wasnt fantastic but better than the other crap jobs round here, i was gettin sometimes over 400 a week for mon to fri,

One of mvh drivers is a tool. He has a distinctive number plate. Has no idea about roundabouts and no concept of the 30 mph limit through Springholm.

Well every company has at least one bad driver who makes the company look bad

never seen an mvh truck for weeks, was thinking that something was up.

I don’t really know many MVH drivers, met a few, I’ve always jumped from lorry to lorry, because I was only out a few times on and off,

One thing I can’t stand is speeding in a 30, il admit I can creep over a tad in a 40 etc but you can’t chance anything on the 75 the long arm of the law shows no mercy up there,

I think all there work is into cairnryan, a lot of scotch drivers, not to many Irish, but used see them reg around cairnryan

V8-Chris:
That can’t leave much for the haulier if he runs several lorries, I worked to a haulier doing DFDS work fridge and dry loads and I was getting £1 a mile from him,

Were you subbing for him in your own lorry if not that is a cracking rate of pay £56 per hour on any motorway

to correct myself, i had said i was getting £1 per mile, i was crossing my wires, im back with that company now, its 50p per mile, i had been doing around 1k mile a week in uk, getting about 500 in the hand. got mixed up with another job i done
