Hi Greek, I was lucky, I never had a Seddon Atkinson. In1986 I would have had a Daf.
Happy days,

Somebody mentioned the Tea job earlier in the post I remember when you used to pick it up, now most of it comes in Port of Tyne & Elddis run it down to Eaglescliffe & do the Haulage out of Aycliffe but Tetleys warehouse staff at Aycliffe have all just got 90 days notice & I have heard that it
s supposed to all go down to somewhere in the Manchester area
Hi Kenny, thanks for the info on OPT 900D, it was yellow when I had it.
Greek, If you pick this up, Mickey the Pole was, and still is, Hungarian.

hi ronnie
no, it was not jimmy wynn, the driver i am thinking of had the similar motor to kevin dale
they were 2 d800 s with side boards on, this lad was short and stocky with dark hair and lived
chester le st way, he fell off work and i took his motor for what i thought would be a short time but lasted over 3 months, when he came back i was given a thames trader which they had taken the box off and made into a flat but only 16 foot long, it used to fly a lad from chilton called tommy then went on the d800 and the chester le st lad was given a unit BUP 587B but shortly after he ran into the back of something
on the m1 at barnsley and got the sack, when the artic was eventually repaired and put back on the
road they gave it to me the name dennis keeps coming to mind but i am not sureregards
Hi I remember that accident with BUP587B, but canโt think of the drivers name. He said he bent down to pick a paper off the floor and ran into the back of a tipper. John Bell got that motor new, he was highjacked at the Bloody Oaks cafe.John was locked up in a hoppickers hut in Kent, the motor was later found in a layby, sheets folded properly and fastend on the trailer. The speedo clock had been smashed. I canโt remember what the load was. Regards Ken

As someone mentioned earlier, John Henry always said, he was restricted on width, restricted on length, but as long as it fitted under a bridge, it was his.
Dents first motor YPT59 with the fibreglass cab.these motors were doing 3 trips Darlington to Bristol a week with 20tons of sugar.32mph no motorways, no bypasses,Two of them were on a add. for Atkinson Vehicals loaded with sugar. Photo taken outside the London depot Crooked Billet pub on the corner.

Mick the Hungarion yep when he worked for Wrights everyone called him (Uno) because of the way he spoke nearly always started with the phrase, You Know
