Demand for runs to Poland

We have the possibility to start some regular collections near Warsaw hauling back to Nottingham. My question is whether it is possible to get some outbound loads and what kind of money this can command? I am guessing these jobs are few and far but thought I would put it out there.

Loads to Poland, are available but the rates will be dire,. Can’t believe that the rate from Poland to UK will be that good, unless it’s really specialist.

Yeah thats what I thought - just wondered if anybody had any idea of what is paid for these runs - if it is even enough to cover fuel etc

Don’t know where you based but Knights of old (kettering) is/was doing service into Poland. They may have some spare loads, But I guess rates will be poor.

I can imagin loads TO poland not being to high but sure there must be something that could at least cover your fuel.
I know “Backloads” can be crap with £1.85 per mile but you are looking for things going OUT there so probably get a better rate…
But in saying that, there are bound to be lots of Polish lories returning with backloads so not sure.

But even £1.85 per mile is better than nothing when travelling all that way.

I dare say there is bound to be plenty of work though

I would have thought that export loads would pay even less than import loads? I’d certainly be amazed if you could get £2100 (1145 x £1.85) for a run from Nottingham to Warsaw. I doubt it would pay even half of that.

Are you running a tautliner or fridge ? If it’s the latter you could ask Matthews, Girteka or Anwil, if it’s a tautliner try asking Maru based at Dewsbury they had a Baltic dept may be different since Leemans bought them.
You could do with a freight forwarder that deals with Russia as there’s loads of Polish trucks pulling ruskie trailers

I absolutely agree.

What I meant was if there were jobs on the way. E.G… Collect In Notts, deliver in Dover and Charge £1.85 p/m. Then collect in Calais and deliver to another point along the route for that price per mile.
Not necessarily get a load for the entire journey.

Currently the rates are extremely poor across mainland Europe even for EE haulers.

In the first three months of this year there have been more bankruptcies of transport companies in Latvia than there were for the whole of last year.

Spoke to a mate of mine from Lithuania and he said that the rates for domestic work in Germany are as low as 0.7 euros (no roads or fuel incl). And this situation is ongoing for the last 18 months or so.
