We’ve just got 6 of these Krones used from BG. Anyone know the pin depth of a 14.04m? Wont make any difference to me as lwb 4x2 with slider but with one of our Spanish drivers tonight and the questions cropped up as his 5th is fixed…

Andrew,
You’re the only chap in Spain with a slider. They ain’t allowed you don’t get the ficha técnica when fitted with a slider.
How have you managed it ?
Is the maximum pin depth not 1600mm, regardless of the overall length of the trailer. (At least within C and U regs)

Bought new around 3 months ago from a NL dealer, delivered to Spain and retro fitted with a low ride SAF slider. The six other units the company i sub for has with sliders (Scania R620’s) are NL reg…

I thought it was 2.04 metres but cant be sure…
It possibly can be 2.04 if measured to the front of a contoured fridge unit, but I think it will be 1.6 to the actual headboard of the trailer
If the projection was 2.04, the unit would need a wheelbase around 4.5 metres to get the weight distribution right, and even then, with a 2axle unit , the potential to overload the unit would be considerable.
Having said all that, a lot of these regulations are not pan-European, so may very well be all good in some countries.

I seem to recall it’s a 2.04m arc forward from the pin, so front corners are 2.04m from the pin but a straight line from the pin to the centre of the headboard is 1.6m, unless you have a bowed headboard or fridge motor on the front of it.
I also seem to recall there is a maximum of 12m from the pin to the rear of the trailer, not including loading devices such as taillifts.
Thanks for the replies, appreciated…
