J&A Transport Colne, pictured when new in one of the truckfest special supplements

Spotted in Mitcham still working I think ?

Seen here parked in W & J Riding’s depot at Longridge in 1996 are six out of a total of ten Foden 4335 4x2 tractor unit’s introduced into the fleet in 1994/5.
After serving their time at Riding’s all ten Foden tractor unit’s were eventually sold on to Miles Fox of Clitheroe with many still surviving today on the fairground circuit

Just been put back to work after a full rebuild

Cracking job you’ve done with her, Nigel. That body suits it better than that ugly, heavy old Harsh thing. What does she carry now, 16.500?

That looks the business Nigel, have you sold your other or are you running two now? Do Tarmac still pay 17.00 tonnes across the board or has that been whittled away as well?

Pete.

The tare weight was 9.62 with a quater of a tank Nathan, I only did a couple of runs with it on Friday and she performs well…regarding the 17 ton capped load Pete, you are right about them taking it away amongst other things.

Very nice Nigel.

The is a Foden working in US. I’ve seen it twice. Its a straight truck ( rigid?) with some apparatus permanently mounted on it. I assume it got CAT engine, but it also has to be LHD. Were they selling them in Europe? If so where?

The chassis was built to get an RPC certificate and then stood on the side then completed on the end of production of the 4000 series !!!

Looks as though it was kept in the factory just so it could be given the presentation then, since it was built before Wild Rover. Why else would it be kept for 7 months after the chassis was laid down?

How ever you look at it it was the last vechile to be built and leave Sandbach !!!
