When I’m running out of time heading North on the M5 I come off at Jctn 2 for Oldbury and take the first exit onto Birchley Island. Then go all the way round to the A4034 Churchbridge. Follow your nose until you reach the Traffic Lights and turn Right onto Park Street then First Left onto Demuth Way. There is plenty of safe free parking opposite Dreams Mattress Factory Shop. Granada Industrial Estate, Oldbury B69 4LH.
Then walk back across the A4034 to a pub called MS Bar and Grill. Good food and a reasonably priced Pint. Friendly service too. Churchbridge, Oldbury B69 2AS

For food food in general during the day. Is hard to find an estate these days that has a decent cafe or a butty van.
All seem to have these mobile vans . You have be in the area at the right time and food from them is rubbish. I normally take a packed lunch and a flask of tea anyway.
But on the odd night out red lions nice food.
Or park not far from Stoke stadium st4 8hx there’s a nice chippy or a hungry horse.pub.
Or just off jj1 M6 used park at Central park estate think it’s called. Then walk to browns over fish bar/chippy about 10 min walk.
Before lockdown they used have a BBQ section they would BBQ on charcoal a nice half a chicken with Perri sauce load of rice and.coleslaw was best chicken I’ve ever had . Or they do you lemon sole. Which never tried
But after lockdown they stopped doing it don’t know why as was popular. Instead they just do usually chippy stuff…
Alough the BBQ charcoal section is still there they just don’t use it which is a shame.
On a side note
Once had a night out in Newton abbot walked.local chippy looking at menu saw deep fried mars bar on the menu .
Didn’t try it.
Yet I travelled a lot around Scotland with job I had and never saw it on a menu anyware in Scotland.
Got almost as far from scotland as you could and it’s there on the menu .

I’m sorry to be a boring old git; but threads like this, whilst well intended, are only of any use if somebody is prepared to trawl all the way through them to find what they want, and that could end up being quite a few pages even after a day or so. Even more if some chit-chat starts to develop.
Might I suggest that admin look into the possibility of a pin map which we could add to with details of parking, facilities etc?

Might of done. Haven’t been that way for years now. But found. A few nice pubs places to eat there.
On occasion in summer be done for 5 ish so used get train.to Torquay only 1 stop…and spend the evening on the beach have tea there head back to truck 9 ish…
I do miss that job delivering to building sites that only open 8 to about 4. But left because pay was salary. And over time days got. Longer n longer with no extra

As long as you have a fridge and are not ADR, get yourselves a Jet boil with an additional stove fixing. Frying pan, some lard/oil, and cook away. Alternatively, you can even get boil in the bag meals, and use the same water you cooked in for a couple brews.

This is exactly what I am currently working on. I am putting a an app together which will map all truck stops, laybys, butty vans, cafes. I will need alot of help from you guys mapping the laybys as they arnt the easiest to stumble across. All the location for the laybys and stops will include amount of spaces plus reviews, prices and pictures. The butty van will also include pictures, reviews and menus plus available parking nearby. Please see the link below for the thread I started on here. Any help, suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping to have something up and running in the next 2-3 months.

Not necessarily. Many search engines will use bots to read all posts and save them so that when some searches say ‘truck parking in Penzance’ it will often bring up a list of the most relevant items.
