Is there a situation were you could drive more than 56 hours legally in a fixed week.
An emergency at the end of your last shift maybe so you had to run over your hours to get parked up somewhere safe. But even driving to your max everyday you’ll still be short of 56 hrs as you’ll be parking up with a bit to spare everyday if you know what i mean.

I am sure there is something that gives you 58 hours driving. I will need to go back through my memory banks and documents

the only thing I can think of would be ferry movements ( not sure if that driving on and off the ferry driving counts though )

There was something about ferry movements counting towards weekly hours but not daily hours I think

There was some talk about movements for ferry crossings not counting for daily driving limit but it was said it still counts for weekly driving limit so wouldn’t be relevant to Dels question.
Tachodisc wrote that a court case had taken place but it turned out not to be correct.
You can read the thread here.
When the EU regs get temporarily relaxed by the DfT in instances of prolonged bad weather?
I see there is a relaxation on at the minute for distribution of kerosene and gas oil.
