which is the best dealership that looks after you and gives you good service
Madam Dixies house of ill repute
Scania let me take a van into town for a few hours whilst they did a 6 week inspection.
Plenty of facilities in the drivers room too, including a microwave and kettle.
Car, Lorry or Tank?
Only one i have used out on the road was Scania in Scunthorpe due to a wheel nut jogging off and taking part of the stud with it. They sorted it out pretty quick and then as it was the evening let me overnight in their car park. Let me use their coffee machine and other facilities whilst i was there so it worked out better then any truckstop or services.
Imperial commercials [daf] at carcroft nr doncaster are a good bunch of lads ,its one of them places that you can actually walk inside the workshop and look at the motor and talk to the fitters without them throwing a wobbly
Truckeast MK
Free coffee, clean toilet and shower to use, give you the WiFi code if you aren’t a total ■■■■■ Nice couple of dollie birds work there too.
Volvo at Bardon where first class when I had a clutch done a couple of years ago. Lent me a van to go for food, showers better than any truck stop and they let me kip in a new motor overnight
Magnum has given me the opportunity to test a few Renault dealers
Top to for service, Renault Cardiff (1), Renault Northampton (2).
Cardiff offererd car or lift to town, chip supp brought in, shower and treated like a customer.
Apart from maybe taking a truck in for a warranty job or a recall, I don’t think I’ve ever really had any dealings main dealer before. Nearly everywhere I’ve worked either get their trucks from a hire company or had work done in house. My current truck comes from a local hire company which is also a Merc dealer though. Truck had been faultless so far, so never had to test the dealer yet.[emoji3]
City West Mercedes in Avonmouth look after us very well they’ll always collect or drop back a vehicle after servicing and we had free servicing for the first year.
Best one I used was the Scania dealer off the Stoke d road.
In the driver’s waiting room was the usual coffee, mags, TV, etc,…and a Scania bunk. handy for catching up on kip when I was on for the Dutch
btw. Has anybody else clocked that American bird that is on reception at Mercedes Avonmouth, knocking on a bit but still fit
(that sounds like I have just arrived from the 70s )
any Volvo Yorkshire ones ,we do try our up most when drivers are waiting
Main dealership Volvo Crossroads Truck & Bus, Scunthorpe helped immensely to solve a potential fuel contamination/power loss. Went out of their way to look afer me and offered alternatives by the bucket load when I thought we wasn’t going to go home that night, covered in the dinner/tea run. Waiting area not great by better than some. Fitters and managers comitted to getting you on the road ASAP unlike some other dealerships which I won’t bother listing…forum won’t have enough space (T E-Witham - Shocking!!!)
Main dealership DAF Chassis Cab (Ipswich) Ltd, Great Blakenham. Decent facilities again went out of their way to make sure I could get home when no more loan cars available. Waiting area ok, clean toilets, decent cafe at the entrance junction who don’t chase you out the door once you have finished whilst waiting, good choice of food too. Always found the management and fitters incredibly helpful and willing to talk without being patronising you to aid diagnosis.
Independent servicing/repairs, HB Commercial Ltd, Ipswich brillant guys. Shame my new place to far away/won’t use them. Incredibly knowledgable can walk in workshop and discuss with fitters and also sit in cab within reason of course (like making work/home calls in private) if desired etc, without anyone having a hissy fit! Waiting area really clean and decently stocked. Good setup in general and been lent cars/van to get home when loan vehicles all gone late at night, when just dropped off vehicle, won’t leave you in the lurch!

Yea all crossroads are bang on
We’ve had dealings with both Graham Commercials in Carlisle and Scania in Darlington and both get top marks for knowledge and service.
It’s sad that there aren’t more who treat you like a customer. If you took a £100k car in for service and it came back covered in greasy finger marks and dirty boot prints I’m sure somebody may say something but because it’s a truck it seems to be ok. Keltruck Willenhall last six weekly!
Channel commercials NOT !
