Hi all,
I haven’t taken any dcpc yet? I’ve been driving hgv’s since 1989. My boss said he will arrange it & pay for it! “He keeps saying he’s looking into it & we’ll do it in the quiet period”, but nothing is happening. Is there a set time I have to get one? Do I do it all at once or in sections?
Cheers,
Daf.
35 hours by September 2014 usually done in blocks of 7 hours but ADR can give you 21 or 28, can’t remember which, hours toward it.
As Coffee said it’s 35 hours of training which in almost all cases means 5 days of 7 hours each. You can do them however you like - 5 separate days months apart or if you like just do them all in one week. It doesn’t matter when you do them, any time between now and September 2014 is fine, but having said that if you leave it too late (like everyone else is doing) then you will probably find it gets a lot more expensive.
ADR counts for 3 of your 5 days (21 hours) iirc.
Personally I’ve only done one day so far, I did the MPQC “EPIC” course, mainly because I needed it for some of the quarry sites I go into as part of my job.

it should be pointed out that it is the Licence holders responsibility to get his/her DCPC not the employer and as said above you should start asap otherwise they maybe few spaces available and will make it more expensive
Does watching 35 hours of truck related programs count towards my dcpc? say eddie stobart, ice road truckers?
Cheers all,
I’ll get on with it myself I think!

Of course it does - if the course provider has registered this activity with JAUPT.
I tried doing this but approval was refused as they didn’t count the eddie stobart program as being to do with real truckers

You’ll have learned more about driving watching that crap than you would on many of these courses! Seriously!
