Poland on the other hand has no upper limit to class size and the speaker told us of a perfectly legitimate course with 180 people attending He also pointed out that in Poland an hour of training only lasts 45 minutes leaving 15 minutes in each hour for breaks.
That’s it then, I’m organising coaches to go to Poland for the DCPC courses

I do not know what question you asked them on that hotline but I asked this one …
A driver has both PCV & LGV aquired rights and completes the last 7 hours of periodic training in early 2014.
Am I right in saying that between sept 2013 and early 2014 that driver temporarily loses the right to drive PCVs commercially, can continue to drive LGVs commercially, but gets back that PCV right after completing the last of the 35 hours in early 2014?
Answer = yes
would like to say you’re right there, as long as the driver did not do any driver periodic training hours between 10/09/2008 to 09/09/2009, cos as you know any training in that year will be lost if the driver does not complete all there driver periodic training before 09/09/2013 for there PCV and that 1st years training you did for your PCV would not count for one of your LGV training days
What if the 35hours of periodic training is started but not completed within 5 years?
Periodic Training can be carried out at anytime over a 5yr timescale but drivers are
encouraged to spread the sessions over the required 5yrs.
All of the training must be completed within 5 years. Failure to do so would mean the driver
could continue into the next year, but their 1st year of hours gained would be disregarded.
For Example
1st year = 14hrs
2nd year = 7hrs
3rd year = 0
4th year = 7hrs
5th year = 0
= 28hrs, 7 remaining
If a driver continued into the 6th year to complete the required 35hrs they would have to
disregard the 14hrs they gained in their 1st year. The driver would now have to complete 21hrs
(7 already needed + 14 from their 1st year).
The 5yrs would now be from their original 2nd year until the end of the 6th year.
1st year = 7hrs
2nd year = 0
3rd year - 7hrs
4th year = 0
5th year = 21hrs
So I would think IMO that anyone that has both PCV and LGV licence and as had it before the implementation of the DCPC and there did some periodic training in year 10/09/08 to 09/09/09 for there PCV, there should compete there DCPC before 09/09/2013 so you don’t loose the training credit you did in year 1 of the PCV, cos any training in the first year for PCV will not count for your LGV.
You are correct Del because periodic training hours are valid for 5 years HOWEVER because of the 1 year difference between PCV and LGV the authorities are counting all the hours done between 09/09/2008 and 09/09/2014 as being valid so that the two can be matched
They are also allowing the 6 years between 09/09/2013 and 09/09/2019 as being valid for the same reason
