was told eventually they be NO day shift/night shift drivers as were all going to have to go tramping eventually, ive always been of the opinion if your not happy with what they offer/ask youb to do you leave/if you can get another job.
but as expected bedlam ensues with the im not sleeping in a tin box when i have a house to sleep in/wife at home/darts/gym etc.
what the law if any on this, some of ours are saying as there contract states day shift driver that would mean breaking there contract to put them as trampers.is that correct/or do they just have to give you x amount of notice to change from day-shift to tramper ta

Ady you’re not going to get a definate rule book answer for this as there isn’t one. If they are telling you to tramp and you hav’nt done it for them before then yes you would have a case, probably at tribunal stage after you have refused to tramp for them. All you gotta do is convince the tribunal that tramping was not part of your job, you never agreed to it and you can’t do it, or don’t want to do it and you never signed a contract to say you where able/willing to do it. Then you can book a holiday on the strenght of the payout !!!
