Trevor got a feeling DJO 666Y was ex Peter Roff IIRC he had a lot of 666’s in his number plates sign of the devil Buzzer
You could be right about being one of Pete’s motors, have the dubious honour of working on a few of them when Pete owned them. What a job that was having to wear slippers inside the cab whilst trying to sort the electrics out
If i had clocked this a little earler i would have asked Peter if that was correct lol, He has just wished me a Happy New Year as he said he would be in bed before midnight,
Any how i will wish you all a Happy New Year and all the very best for 2025.
DJO was a Dawson supplied vehicle being Oxon registered
A bit late now but one way of telling if it was an ex Peter Roff motor was if the Night Heater had two outlets in the cab, around that time everyone of his lorries had double heater outlets, i remember Stuart fitting them for him
Getting bad where you are wrighty.

Yes it was a bit rough yesterday plenty of water about, we went on that road about 11.30 am and the water had gone back in so not too bad.
What a contrast today has been, glorious sunshine all day without a cloud in sight but it sounds like we are going to pay for it with snow next…
Cheers Wrighty.
Do I know you by any chance ? Your name sort of rings a bell but age has caught up with me lol. Were you at Stuart’s funeral? Trev was but Pete could not make it.
Old Trucknet Peter Roff thread.
Oily
Oily what a star you are, I just clicked on barkingbil on your post and low and behold I had to look twice as on that flickr page was one of the first trucks I ever owned, a Mammoth Minor twin steer SMW 608J. bought from an OD who lived in Gillingham Dorset and he pulled for Frigoscandia, he was 6ft 6ins tall and used to sleep in that motor on boards across the engine as many of us did back in the day. It had an AV760 engine and 6spd gearbox and used to go really well. I had it on round timber haulage but off road it was useless so I had the second steer axle removed and turned it into a long wheel based Mandator which improved the ride and traction off road, later I got some mates in the car repair job to cut out the back of the cab and add a sleeper pod (oh what luxury) all I can say is a lot of water has passed under the bridge since those days over 40 years ago, Buzzer
nmp
That was Tony’s funeral last year, Stuarts younger brother. Yes I was there stood alongside Adrian in the crematorium and was standing mainly with Stu Napier and a few of the other ex AES apprentices manly discussing what we done after moving on.
My first English delivery with a French lorry, in Kent weren’t they? And I was treated royally as always in England if I was thought to be French. I soon learned to speak English with a strong French accent. Didn’t go down well with all of the English drivers I met though.
New year, new job, Matt in Tracy Island loaded, washed & locked and off to a new destination for us Santa Cruz de Tenerife, some put this under the heading of work but sounds more like a holiday jolly to me with DIT luxury tours, Buzzer
Evening Buzzer
Well it’s supposed to be getting warmer, but it doesn’t feel like it yet. Had the snow for a week now and the only consolation has been some nice sunny days. No doubt it will turn into a bog again when it thaws out.
Our three wheeled dog is on the mend she went to the sheep on the quad yesterday, so must be feeling better.
Back to work next week after an enforced break thanks to a inner ear infection, no fun being dizzy and falling over so getting ready to hit the road…
Cheers Wrighty.

Matt in Cadiz waiting for the tub to Tenerife in the morning, what will he do for 39 hours, Buzzer
Finally after four hours of twoing and froing to get a T form stamped the useless agent eventually got things moving enabling Matt to depart on his cruise to Tenerife with minutes to spare, obviously not used to paperwork, if he missed the ship no point in going as the cruise ship only there a day, Buzzer
On board and breath.
