Hi Horry I’ve taken note see what I can do, but just lately been to busy working to do anything, been on the Iveco since Christmas ! When it’s done I’ll put it on ! Globetrotters are still obtainable got couple in stock . I wanted a Fiat or a Maggie for a Transport Services project but I’ve only seen one on the net and that went for over £100 thier just getting hard to get hold of.
It looks like Lorraine’s in 1980 in my little work shop already!!
Hey Horry you or your Dad got any pics of your old F88■■? When it was in the mag was it 6x2 then or 4x2■■
Can’t make it out back on this thread??
Morning Jim. Will get some pictures on here of it before and after the refurb. When Buzzer got it, it had a yellow cab, no 5th wheel and had murels all over it of cowboys and indians! The inside had been decked out in cheap red household carpet (looked like a dodgy Indian restaurant inside!) and it had the round F10 tank on it. When the article was done (Sep 1994) it had been fully finished that week and was a 4 x 2 as nature intended it to be. Sorry to say but once the eminox / alcoas / tag fitted I did’nt like it any more. Even though it was seventeen years old at the time by comparison it was still quite shaky sourcing specific parts on the refurb. I can remember going up to Hoddesden with Gooj (You will remember him as Andy) to buy the original ‘split in half’ diesel tank from a recovery firm called Webb Bros who ran 88 / 89 wreckers. JD will confirm this, but also I think he bought a ‘donor’ F88 from Dave Coombes for certain parts. Princes did all the driveline etc / Brian Paling from Hedge End painted it and Hants & Dorset Trim put the brown trim in the cab.
The companys international peace officer unoficial of course wouldn’t have any body bad mouth the firm looks like he’s puckerin up for a kiss in this one maybe Gooj is comin up the nearside in a right ■■■■■■
John I take a great deal of umbridge at the fact that you take my name (scattercash) in vain with ref to going to Sweden.
Lets sort this out Mr Davies snr, First of all, I beleive that it was you who first used that name and let me say you had no evidence whatsover to imply that I was in any way carefull with my very hard earned monies.Secondly I was never important enough for Volvo to invite me to Sweden. Allthough I did spend a very brandy infused 2 days with you eldest son and the man from Boyes Conning and Kawasaki along with Mr Roger Leopard at Volvos facory in Gent. We had spent the night before the factory tour in a bar/ restaurant in Gent and both Horry and myself suffered greatly from distilled grape juice. But again I must insist that allthough you and your like continue to smear my name with stories all not founded I shall continue to be generous and philanthropic in everthing I do.By the way the false pound coins were no more than a silly prank on behalf of yourself you and Mr Slaters behalf.

Hi pat sorry to here about John Shaw M4 fitter as a lot of people new him he would help any one on the road who was in trouble.
As for your rare pic of scattercash actually handing over money when my back was turned you can see his brother in the background using distraction tactics this is quite obvious and I was falsley accused of giving him that nickname i think that was Jimmy Rawlings at least thats were i first heard it.

That photo was taken the night we shipped it out. We had one of the last F12’S (F380 JKK - Bought from Compo, sold to Cliff Luxton) and the engine blew, so we had to temporarily stop the restoration project and send it out as it was the only unit available. It went to Split, Croatia and offloaded onto the RFA Resource, drove out overland via Gorizia, loaded garden chairs from Bolzano to Porto, then reloaded potatos from Odemira back to Vitacress. Think the driver needed restoring when he got back!! - Jim somewhere got a picture of it on that trip coming out of the Frejus, taken by Axle (John Eaton) who ran down to Split with it.That would have been early 1994.
I bin tryin to remember who helped me negotiate my first trip to italy a couple of 140’s and i just worked out after finding another pic it was a firm called Barry A Titteral they ran out of East india dock road London i’lle post the pic it was on the steps on Mont Cenis pretty busy as there was a customs strike goin on.You can make out one of these on the apex of the bend if your eyesight is good i wonder if there still about?.
