MAPPO,on your photos,i noticed the yellow triangles on the front grill, wasnt that for the Porkies,to show a long vehicle, some law they made up.?The Davies Scanias photo, that must be an “Esteppe” roof conversion,Dutch firm did it.
Sorry for late reply Toby…they were a Spanish thing mate.
The yellow square indicated a goods vehicle and the yellow square with blue triangle indicated goods vehicle with trailer
although i seem to remember that even cars towing a trailer had to have the one with the blue triangle.
Jed…re your missing pics mate, i can only assume that you put them on via photobucket and if they have
for some reason been deleted from photobucket they will disappear on here.
Anyway lets see some more pics then mate.

Hey Joe (or was that jimi hendrix who coined that line?)
All great here mate, lonnnnnnngggggg time as you say amigo mio.
Chip…what can I say mate? he knows he just wont admit it! Although it was Reader that helped me to drink a case of port 1 sunday at Castets, though it may have been Kwoz who gave him the idea,or at least trained him to do so,so you see it still comes back to the infamous Kwoz.
Hi Flipper are you the guy that used to be on for a firm from I think Uttoxeter. I was with Ian Reiber when he was on for Solstor down in Spain somewere cant remember. Ian often mentions you. He is on for an irish firm now doing gigs and theatre work MC Guiness is the firm. Sorry if its not you mate.
Hiya Baxter, yep that was me, worked for Simon McCann for years along with Big John from up in the peak district,Den Slater,Steve Cashmore etc. Living in Stamford now just driving Uk for CS Ellis from Rutland
Blaky:- You say that the coast road to Split was not the best…But the romance and the glory made up for it don’t you think, and of course the scenery, I’m sure Mappo and the rest of us agree…
The coast road pic is great. Went along there quite a few times. The road runs alongside the Markarska Riviera, south from Split down to Dubrovnik. IIRC It looks like you heading south in that pic, right at that mad right hander, a very sharp, total 90 degree turn, black marks all over the inside wall!!!
Fanatstic scenery though, a beautiful drive and scorching hot in the summer months with quite a few little places to pll over and enjoy the view, time permitting.
Lifes just not the same, its not often you get a job where everyone is a star in thier own right, but in the 80’s, i worked with a very special group of people. Thanks guys, miss you all. Blakey.
