Looks like the Puerto Despenaperros to me Tone, aka "the mountain on the
N IV. That arced restaurant front looks familiar too mate,is it along the old national between Almeria & Murcia by any chance? Hard to tell without the procession of 6 & 8 legger Pegasos smoking along the road.
Been fortifying the house all weekend mate as we have the Kwoz himself & his good lady coming up for a couple of nights next weekend…HELLLPPPPPPPPP!!!

Hi Flip mate,
I,ll have to take your word for the name ,but yes your right its on the N IV
heading south towards Bailen.
Right again on the restaurant one Flip. Well remembered.
Kwozzy did tell me he was invading sorry visiting you next weekend mate.
I think you,re very brave indeed. Batten down the hatches & for gawds sake
dont leave any booze lying around. Good luck to you
Hi Dreva,
When Davies started on fridge work i was the only driver on it.
I used to export load from Bells abbatoir inTadworth nr. Reigate with hanging beef for Rungis, Brittany & marseille normaly, then re-load for Chingford Fruit Packers in Woolwich from Italy & Spain.
The guy in the transport office at Bells,Mark then moved onto Chingfords and shortly after Solstor was created & Davies put more trucks on there.
Solstors first trucks of their own were F10,s (plain white). Myself & my buddy Cluey left Davies briefly for a spell on there but soon returned.
Cheers Tone will hide away the tinti & scotch before the old lad gets here!
Dreva, I only spent about ten years up ‘n’ down with the lads but even I have more stories than you could shake a stick at . Happy days & a few hard ones too, and even more “hard” sessions a la bar . As for photos I am trying to teach myself how to put them on here, then I’ll upload some all action shots from the dats of EEC (remember them lads?) & my days at McCann’s, only back to '91 I’m afraid but still nostalgic, 143’s etc.
Kwoz, on my old mate Tony’s advice it looks like you’ll need to bring your own booze for the weekend mate as you know I’m not tempted by the evils of alcohol even if we were accused of being big drinkers in America just cos we ordered a 3rd pint

Many moons ago, while driving an F89 for Davies, I was pulling a TIP
trailer for STS on route to Italy. I was heading south on the A6 autoroute
in France near the Avallon exit when I felt a sudden lurch and saw a pair
of my trailer wheels overtaking me in the outside lane.
Miraculously they came to rest against the centre barrier without hitting
anything (I forgot to mention it was a tandem trailer).
Eventually a fitter came out and we retrieved the wheels, chained up the
axle and I limped to the garage in Avallon.
To cut a long story short the garage were able to do the job but TIP were
haggling over their price so after two days I left the garage running on
just a single axle and had to drive to TIP’s in Paris for them to fit a new
one.
Needless to say this cost me yet another weekend away but hey who cared
in those days.
