Hi all, Andrew can i ask why you had to have an ■■■■■■ through the tunnel but you had no orange haz plate up. I know it is probably a simple answer but i need to ask. Keep the pictures comming though. :sunglasses:

Hola Gerbil, I hope well  ■■■■■■ is due to the fact it is a fridge, to do with width. This protocol has been in place since re-opened after the fire down there.

Southbound Frejus with ADR as Blanc do not accept any ADR

Horry, thanks for that mate just goes to show you learn something every day, and never to old too learn. Is that both tunnels. :sunglasses:

Yes mate, regardless of either tunnel you get escorted through if with a fridge. Frejus can do ADR and in that instance, you go with an ADR ■■■■■■ in groups of 4-6 trucks, depending on who is waiting.

HORRY,with the price of a ■■■■■■ and tunnel , years ago we would go down to the vent and be in ITALY around the same time as some who went either MT Blanc Frejus even when clearance was needed even the LUXEMBOURG,STUTTGART ,MUNICH BRENNER, are theses routes ever used by todays firms no road tolls cheaper lux fuel .dbp

Just had a look at the Mont Blanc tunnel charges and have to say i was shocked how expensive it is,especially if you only use it on the odd
occassion. I know that Davies use it all the time so i see you can get a discounted subscription.

According to the chart one way for a fridge is 396.90 euros… :open_mouth: I notice they dont even quote a return price.

Heres a bit about the Mont Blanc tunnel that was completed and opened on July 16th 1965 and was the Worlds longest road tunnel.

Hi Dean B - Any way you look at it, it’s expensive. These are the tariff charges to ‘Joe Public’ as I said, it is not cheap, but the lads have a specific card for Frejus / Blanc at a set rate, which again is cheaper than paying on a fuel card. If you use Shell / AS24 / DKV card by comparison, it’s circa £75-£80 more!! You cannot buy a return ticket on our cards - it’s all done one way in, one way out.

Yes we both tipped panels at a farm at Tarrant Launceston, I then went down to Dorchester for a tractor and then loaded a Unimog at Stratford upon Avon.
Back home now as tomorrow I’m going to make an honest woman of Alice, after 22 years we are tying the knot. No fuss, feed the sheep in the morning then off to Leyburn job done then a meal with the family then back to farming on Friday. Never let it be said us Northerners are not romantic eh… :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :unamused:

Cheers Wrighty.

Well done Wrighty and congrats to you & Alice, nought like doing summit special in a days work and going to a civic office with a bit of sheep muck on thy boots to seal the deal, like the sound of the honeymoon as well straight back at it on the farm. Twill take a while for Alice to get used to her new surname for sure and you get to use the cheque book as well   cant be bad, cheers Buzzer
