Hay there. This I’m told is Semtex up on the bank doing what he does best. And Smiffy next to the trailer.Pictures courtesy of Roy (Smiffy) Smith

Semtex was the right name for him, my god he was unpredictable when he came to us he was called asprin cos i think he used to deliver them for Lambert Bros but i could stand corrected on this point.

Your right there mate we reckon we’d need two 40’ containers to put them all in but i dont think 2 would be enough.

A surprise visitor in the yard today when i visited Andy Smith was there and he still does the odd days driving for Davies even though he’s busy with his Private Hire buisness, just likes to keep his hand in .You have a job to see him but he is there in the shade honest.

Good evening Mr Who, hope you are ok. Still remember first time I met you when I was a mere sprog (well about 14) It was in TIR Park at Irun and you were driving a metallic blue F10 or F12? for Keith Barrett. If I remember correctly, he was an absolutely mad Newcastle United fan and would follow them round the country home and away. Other names that ring ‘Barrett Bells’ are: Plum, Willy and Lex. Spoke to Jocky the other week, take care Who, Horace x

Horrys forgotten one name that was Graham from the cotswolds some where i think, a quiet man got on with the job doing work out of Spain (Jose Canovas Pardo) i believe always overweight with melons and the like .Dont know if Keith Barratt is still about but if he is he must be lovin the football he followed Newcastle every where

i remember Brian from bristol on for the Keith had the f reg 143 was after keith sold the f16 had the blue f12
and 22 j reg f10.s

This bloke did a bit for you…

Hey Buzzer…If he’d put his feet up on my dash, he’d have been walking home, even if we were in Italy …who taught him to do that ■■?.. … bloody youngsters have no respect… :unamused:

Who was the artical on LD lines last Sunday who was boring the pants off an Irish driver the whole crossing, I heard him say he could not understand being asked to leave a Routier for smoking at the table ,but being able to smoke in a bag house, he thought the rules might be different !!

Given the choice, I would have to say truck in the top pic was the better one. This one was one of the first to have GEL on the number plate. New in August '93 ( we had three in one go) and I believe some of the last to be built in Volvos place at Irvine. Steve Wells (Whacker) had it new.

Zebedee still has his van Horry.
