Davies Int. Southampton. With photos (Part 1)

One more from '92 tutty resting in Modane must have been hot door open shorts on.Another one of the fleet with cab up and the little P cab scanny in the back ground, if i remember this was a bad year for strikes and roadblocks through out France.

Another from the early '90’s this time Gooj and shaun who hailed from Coventry and worked for Harry Mason before joining the blue and whites here pictured in Le Havre,or at least thats what it said in the album.

For you that know him, I met Tutty the other day when he came to our Plant Yard to collect some gear. He now drives a 8 wheeler for Natta (I’m sure most of you know that) and occasionly a drag with it. A decent bloke who spoke fondly of his time on Buzbys. His beard was a different colour tho, maybe he dyes it “ash blonde”?

Hi John
Tell Andrew you can be banned for taking photos in certain yards especially where there is big signs saying so & their compliance manager is also on this site.
Cheers Rich

G961BRE and F380JKK in Corbiel services.Drivers Gooj and Shaun first stop for coffee after leaving Le Havre.

Somewhere on the road in europe out of the windscreen with one of ours going the other way.Does anyone know where it is ?

Good morning. Afraid I will let the cat outta the bag as it was me who took the photo!! It was either just before or just after Tournus, heading home with Gooj after doing at change over at Pont D’ Ain with Mark Earle from Bristol. Steve Wells (Whacker) coming the other way. Slatey, check out the windscreen - LS Commercials tax disc holders!! One thing I can be sure on is the day the picture was taken was 19 years ago today…

Buzzer:
Heres one of " in the yard today series " took the boss for a nice english breakfast in Warsash and went by yard on the way home, took apic for all our loyal followers.
Gazzer do you think a video diary would take off, just look what happened to that 10yo. girl who took a pic of her dinner and complained it was crap, now she has raised loadsa dosh for charity. By the way Andrew’s got plenty time on his hands but sounds like he dont want to do the Christmas special away from home.
PS. had to take this through closed gates.1

Good day to you all,as for too much time on my hands the boys are running us ragged(but still legal) & as for working christmas put my name down again R44 is home
regards Andrew

Qwozz it took ages for Horry and with the help of Jim Ski to put those cardboard cut outs together, they come pre painted so we dont have to do that. I do realize you are a frustrated ex international driver and never really wanted to give it up, bit like ■■■■, ask Mappo about that. Anyway its nice to see you still look in occasionally and you and your Mrs still aint bin round for that cup of tea, there is no charge for ex drivers you know.I thought you of all people would realize that the old export market aint quite what it used to be, gone are the days when we had a dozen trailers on there way to Bosnia and reloading out of pirotecknicks plus more loading in the uk, the important thing is we are still going which many of our counterparts are not, so qwozz if you have a change of heart about the old international side of things give the boys a ring as i think they quite like you they may grant you an interview and who knows they might even take you back on.

Buzzer; You shouldn’t say that to him, you’ll frighten him off for good, you know he was always shy of work…And as for the tea thing if i had known that i would’ve been around on Wed cos I was in Fareham community hospital all day… :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

I dont think what i said would frighten him off at all, but the thought of Mrs D doing the medical might just do the trick.

Kwozz. Pay no attention to this waffle. With regards to the part time vacancy, will be contacting you soon as we are trying to source a suitable person to offer their experience in the role as Company Ambassador / Community Relations Officer. The first two dates for the diary will be as follows: Truckfest handing out key rings, pens and lighters emblazened with the company logo and the second will be at Waterstones when the book on the company is launched. Will need you there for booksigning and to give a reading to the general public and passers by. Chapter Twelve is about Gooj, we all thought it would be fitting for you to recite this chapter given all the great times you had together. ■■

Talkin of your mate Qwozz i just found a pic of Gooj with Shauny in bar AS 24 at Tournus, hope this brings back many happy memories for you.

AM GONNA LAY DOWN IN A DARKENED ROOM FOR A FEW YEARS
I DONT KNOW HOW YOU COULD DO THAT TO ME,
