David Wilson - General Carriers LTD & Roxsett Trucking

Hi all,

I’m Hayley, David Wilson’s daughter. Some of you may remember my dad at the owner of General Carrier’s and roxsett trucking. He then after a stay on the naughty step went to work with stage truck and fly by nite.

He sadly and unexpectedly died in his truck in 2020.

I’ve got lots of picture to share.

If anyone has pictures or stories please comment.

Hi Hayley I remember your Dad very well indeed. Not through transport but more through the bikes. We’d regularly ride to Helmsley and the surrounding areas on a Sunday.

I remember him insisting on swapping bikes one time and me reluctantly riding his Yamaha R7 back acutely aware that it was only one of a handful in existence and if I stacked it I’d probably have to sell my house to replace it :joy:

I also remember a legendary party at the big house in Wynyard with fond memories.

Sadly I wasn’t aware that he had passed. My thoughts are with you Hayley

Yeh that r7 was a beast!! I can just imagine him laughing at you panicking when you rode it lol.

So you’ll have know lucky too? From bikes? He passed away too

That house was the best haha

I probably knew Lucky also, the name doesn’t ring any bells but I’m sure our paths will have crossed at some point.

The last time I spoke to Dave was at Croft. I was either racing or instructing there, I can’t really remember. He turned up to watch and I’m sure he’d just bought himself a new silver Porsche Boxter which I took the pee out of and called it his hair dressers car :joy:

That’s was lucky, and dad lol back in the day. Lucky wasn’t a speed lover like dad so he probably was slow haha he had a stutter and work for dad too.

Did you know the man who rode with dad too that lived in Marton I think? Had a bungalow maybe and worked away?

Croft was that bikes? He sponsored some rider in the British super bikes russel Hodgson I think he was called

I do recognise Lucky there although I didn’t know him. As for the guy from Marton I’m not too sure as there was loads of us who hung out together.

That was him, too good looking for his own good! His problems started when he realised that what was in his pants was more fun and hurt a lot less than throwing a motorcycle into the scenery at 180mph! :joy:

I hesitated to say that :joy::joy::joy:

He was always envious of my ability to travel everywhere on the back wheel so I used to take him on a quiet stretch of road around Billingham and teach him until he finally got it :+1:
