Got a run tonight.

Anyone on here ever been?
I think I’m only tipping curtainsider at warehouse.
Just wonder if there’s anything I should watch out for.
Thanks in Advance.

Correct. 3 round trips with a night out
Hopefully no problems navigating my way round. Never been to a railhead before :-/
googd question.
DAV 1-TESCO CLOTHES .BUT NO RAIL CONNECTION.
TESCO GROCERY -BIG WAREHOUSE WITH PLENTY BAY AND SHUNTER MOVED CONTEINERS TO RAIL STATION.
ARE YOU WORK WITH CONTAINERS.■■
BUT IF YOU IN CURTAINSIDE -SHOULD BE YOU GO TO TESCO GROCERY,OR MALCORM
Edited due to getting the wrong end of the stick.
He’s not going to dav3. He’s going to dav railfreight 3 times
Ye gads!
Double check where you are going dude or you may be driving from one super Tesco shed to the next!
The actual container base rail head which is not connected with Tesco in any way is near Stobbies branded warehouse, DHL for bath store & the Malcolm group warehouse (I’d be surprised if you are delivering here as it’s just a container base I think).
If it is a Tesco warehouse you are delivering to, the only one with a rail head actually in it is Dav 3 which is by the old shut petrol station like yer man said.
JB Global.
First time on containers. (I assumed it was curtainsider. That’ll teach me)
Wish me luck.
Not been into a railhead but-
If it’s Malcom’s, that’s at Crick -malcom logistics crick
20 minutes further than Daventry, if it’s Tesco that’s also at Crick, just off the A5/A428 roundabout.
They call Crick- Daventry or DIRFT ( don’t know why, co’s it’s a long walk from Daventry.
Don’t think that there’s any Railheads in Daventry ?
Best route for Hooning in an Artic will be Oxford A34 north, M40 north- J10/Cherwell Services then straight up the A43 to Towcester, turn north onto the A5 & plod up to Crick (about 20 minutes from Towcester)
Slow boat to China route will be Oxford-A34-M40-J11 then take the A361 (Byfield road, great biking road, but slow in a wagon) to Daventry then follow the signs to Kilsby & M1 North.
Once your at Kilsby stay on the A5 & the next roundabout is Crick, turn left for Tesco & Right then right at the next roundabout for Malcom’s.
Probably looking at an hour & a half to two hours each way. Depends how many Burgers you stop for on the way !
Apparently just under 2 hours with a 15 minute turn around. I reckon nearer half hour min as it’s my first ever run on containers.
If it’s Tesco grocery it’ll be Dav 2 I think…
Daventry Railhead is at DIRFT, actually thats what it stand for Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal.
Its on Railport Approach, just off the A428 /Celtic Way. Next to Stobarts what used to be known as the Glasshouse.
You’ll have to be quick to make that third one.
I was thinking that too Mike.
Oh well. Let’s hope they change S/C speed limit before 7pm

I used to do that run regular , it was a long time ago but memory makes it just over two hours. I could be wrong though. See if anyone else might think its quicker carrying onto the M1 and running up that way rather than going along the A5 ?

+1.
I think M1 would be quickest. 2hrs seems a bit close to me, I’d be expecting a little over 2hrs each way.
Last time I was in there, the guy on the desk was a HUGE Ruski (I think he was Ruski), wasn’t very good at instructions so your 1st run WILL take ages.
After that, time in there when you know where you’re going is dependant on if the lifter is doing the trains (trains always take priority) and the queue in front of you.
15 mins I think is unrealistic.
YES IT IS DIRFT ANDREAS , NOT MALCORM AND NOT DAV RAIL TERMINAL
FROM SWINDON
A420 TO OXFORD
THEN A34 TO M40 FOR ONE JUNCTION J9-J10
A43 ALL THE WAY TO THE M1 JUNCTION 15A
LEAVE M1 AT JUNCTION 18
COMPREHENDEZ
Thanks for the help guys.
Had my 2 minute induction on how to operate twist locks.
Should be fun.
