Dartford avoiding m25

Can you take the A1 all the way to Penonville road then get on the a13,Ive got a 16foot trailer.I can see on the map but Ive never tried it.Is there any restrictions for trucks there.?

A13 is North of the river, Dartford is South of the river. AFAIK, if you do not want to pay the £6.00 (I think) charge then the easiest route would be to go via Westside of London (M25 anticlock).
Others will have other views.

No,it doesnt matter,Ive got a dart tag.The reason Im asking,if the m25 is closed before the a10,I cant use the north circular because of the 15,3 bridge but rather than turning back and going all the way round if I could use the a1 a13…

Ferry

I’m guessing you are talking about avoiding night time clourses just be aware you have a lot night lorry bans in London on a lot or roads coming of the m25 at junction 23 running up the a1 to junction 4 and running across the a414 and back down the a10 and rejoining the m25 at junction 25 only adds about 20 mins which is the Offical diversion route

Oh,of course,why didnt I think of that.Makes a lot more sense.thanks for replies

By the time you’ve messed around trying to avoid everything you need to the conclusion most come to is just go the other way round the M25…assuming of course that’s not knackered.

If you’re coming down the A1 then leave at Hatfield and cut across to A10 and down to J25. From there you can either carry on all the way down A10 to A406 and round to A13 if there’s any further issues around the M25 and it also gets you past the bridge on the A406.

You can also rejoin at J25, or shimmy through Waltham Cross to get on at J26 (as they like closing the tunnel just after J25), or get off the A10 before Hoddesdon on the A414 to Harlow to pick up the M11 and you can rejoin at J27 or carry on down M11 to A406 and A13.

There plenty ways without going into London and all the hassle that may entail.

Ok,thanks, yes, I need to learn all these routes in my head, its got that bad now, every time the road is closed, you cant assume the next route isnt closed.I do use the national highways website but so.etimes, the way they describe it,you cant tell if some of the lanes are closed or the whole carriageway is closed .I did send them an e mail about it once and they gave me a standard reply and then ignored my subsequent e mails, they obviously dont give a ■■■■

Unless you are trying drag out a run or the bridge is closed just take the M25.

The M25 and bridge ■■■■■ but it is the best we got. The ferry is no quicker and you’ll be in central london… so traffic will be even worse than the M25 lol.

Yes,sure thanks

It wouldn’t be…

A bad idea to buy a map and look at it from time to time. But, nothing makes up for doing the same route every few weeks. You get know every pothole, traffic light sequence and which lane runs best etc.

Yes,I tried that,it doesnt seem to sink in.Ill be retired by the time I learnt them all

Just ring in sick
