'daily working period'

I want to know what must be done correctly at the beginning and end of the daily working period in according to Regulation 165/2014.

If the driver starts a new day working period shall proceed in the following order:

  1. The driver shall enter in the digital tachograph the symbols of the countries in which the daily working period started (tachograph is to ‘rest’ mode);
  2. The driver go on.

If the driver finishing a day working period shall proceed in the following order:

  1. The driver shall enter in the digital tachograph the symbols of the countries in which the daily working period end (tachograph is to ‘other work’ mode);
  2. The driver switch the mode ’other work’ to ’rest’ in the digital tachograph.

If the order shown above is correct or if is another procedure please tell me.

While you are fiddling with tachograph buttons you are working, so it should be set on ‘other work’.
As the whole operation is over and done with in under a minute, I doubt it’ll make much difference on way or the other.

That is, but as I wanted only in accordance with Regulation 165/2014. If not so great importance, and the record is the same then it is okay.

Only in Spain, the area of start and finish must be selected, for example starting in the
Basque, then finish in Andulucia, the code is entered.
This is due to their numerous public holidays and Fiestas, they have more breaks
than a Kit Kat.
If driven on a truck ban day or night, they can fine you at a later date.
