Land Rover discovery.
56 mile round trip, have a diesel Mondeo that averages around 53-55MPG so it isn’t too expensive but the 45 minutes there and 35 minutes back would be nice if I didn’t have to do it.

I’ve had worse! About 3 years ago I was only doing about 3 miles each way 2-3 times a week as a semi tramper so I thought what the hell and bought a merc E55 estate! 5.4 supercharged V8 with 470bhp. What a weapon but 15mpg commuting and 20 in a run got tiresome. Good fun though [emoji23]
56 mile a day for me and 90% of journey is M62,put about £40 a week into a diesel mondeo(TBF it’s good on fuel),worked at same place for over ten years and used to live a lot closer.
280 mile over 4 days at 58 mpg for £9.89 an hour

5 miles each way every day. Free
I´ve changed a bit since that photo was taken.
mate of mine can look out of his front door and see his truck parked about 400yds away at Tebay…
he leaves his car at home.
5 miles round trip every day
£60-70 a month on fuel
She’s a little thirsty
17 miles at between 12-18 mpg on a Monday, same mileage but between 28-35mpg depending on how many muggles are about on a Friday/Saturday when I come home.
my mate has transferred onto walkers crisp job out of Leicester & its 1 mile further than his old commute & his fuel costs are being paid by company , amazing how these companies can find £££ when it suits them

Good point, that.
If I´d been concreting out of another plant, further south, for the day, I could park up 50 yards away from my house and head on in the day after. Manager would sort out the clock card etc. No problems.
Back in the early 80s though. Not sure they´d allow it today.
